Viv Dykes Carry on Laughing!
Viv Dykes is a truly inspirational Northumbrian Artist!
After gaining her BA(Hons) degree she began her career in London working for top Creative Consultants "Stylorouge" where her talent for portrait painting saw her working on album designs for artists such as "Alison Moyet, Wham! Nat King Cole, Blur and many others...
Viv has now returned to her beloved Northumberland where she has set up The Riverside Studio with her partner Graeme.
The North East is a constant source of inspiration for her work but more recently after a 26 year working relationship with Stylorouge, Rob O'Connor, Founder and Creative Director commissioned Viv to paint a huge portrait of Eric Morcambe for an exhibition to celebrate 30 years of Stylorouge. Since then Viv has gone on to paint more of Britains Comedy Greats including Tommy Cooper, Sid James, Kenneth williams and Hattie Jaques.
Viv is very excited about her forth coming exhibition showcasing 6 of her "Comedy Greats" portraits. More news on that to follow...
